What is Methodism?
Methodism does not claim to be the only true church. It recognises its heritage in the Catholic Church and the Protestant Reformation. It does not claim to stand apart from other Christian denominations.
The essence of Methodism is the '4 alls'. First, we all need to be saved from Original Sin, which is the selfish human tendency to place ourselves in God's place at the centre of our own universe. Second, that all can be saved from this sin, through Salvation. Third, all can know themselves to be saved and live at one with the Holy Spirit. Fourth, all can be raised to Spiritual Perfection which is love of God and neighbour in this life.
